Chet and The Committee Good Time Blues, Swing and Rockin' Boogie!
*Thanks to Everyone who donated Stockings to our 2009 Sock Drive dubbed as The Committee Rocks for Socks! With your help just under 300 pair were collected. . . and have now been delivered. I brought most Women and Children styles to Staint Vincent De Paul Village and the Work Style Socks were appreciated by those folks working towards a new life through The Alpha Project. Thank you for helping! Let's do it again sometime.
I want to holler out to members of my band. . . some of the hardest working cats in town. Dana, Al, Fred, Judd, Stan, Ric, Tony, Tater, Jim, Mike, Scott, Phil, Chuck, Ray, Preacher, Mercedes and the rest of you mugs. Thanks for a Swingin' 2009! Let's hang on and see what happens next.
Chet Cannon is a self described Terminal Blues Fan who once attended 26 blues shows in just 29 days. Diggin' blues since the early 1970's. Developing his singing voice from a young age in church with the family, and later singing along to Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley on the radio. Over the years having attempted to play drums, trumpet, guitar, and most recently the harmonica which you'll hear every now and then.
The Committee was formed in 2001 to perform at a Rock Christmas 4 Kids event at Etta's Place and we just kept on laying it down since. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this project. Special Thanks to my pal Tony Agosta; who has been a member of The Committee and helped me keep the dang thang alive and moving on more than one occasion since 2002.
We have worked all around Southern California for eight years now and I feel quite blessed to had an opportunity to share a stage with some very talented musicians. Opening act for Candye Kane Band, James Harman, John Hammond, Rod Piazza and The Mighty Flyers, Chris Cain, Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Magic Slim, Maria Muldaur, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith and others. We pour our heart and soul into every show, so come out and have some fun with your new favorite swingin' blues band sometime soon.
I've sure had a good time. . . Warner Springs Resort, Humphrey's Lounge, O.B. Chili CookOff, Julian Bailey's BBQ, Patrick's II in San Diego, The Long Beach Blue Cafe, Adams Ave. Street Fair, San Felipe Mexico Blues Fiesta, The Harp Pub in Ocean Beach, Downtown Cafe of El Cajon, Maxson Roadhouse Festival in South El Monte, December Nights on The Prado, The ECORP Holiday Ball and many points in between.
